What Our Customers Say

Benefits Of CBD Oil

Reduces stress and anxiety

Whisper away the stress and worries that comes imbibed in the lifestyle we lead today! CBD promotes a better mental well-being that we lack desperately.

Enhances sleep

Your beauty sleep is just a step away! Constant electronic device engagement, late night shifts at work, reduced physical activity, leisure time constricted to binge watching series and scrolling through social media endlessly are all culprits in disrupting our biological sleep cycle. CBD has proven its efficacy in maintaining a healthy and uninterrupted sleep pattern, decreasing day time sleepiness and may also show improvement in REM sleep behavior disorder.

Regulates Metabolism

Eat well, stay fit! Junk food, unhealthy diet, sporadic sleep patterns and modern lifestyle can disrupt the inner functioning and balance in our body. Cannabis helps the body regain this balance by coordinating with ECS thereby regulating metabolism and appetite.

Helps the body regain homeostasis

Homeostasis is defined in Britannica as the self-regulating process by which biological systems tend to maintain stability while simultaneously adjusting to conditions that are optimal for survival. The contribution of ECS in homeostasis is undebatable and CBD supplements the activity resulting in improved health.

Reduces inflammation and pain

Bye bye pain! Be it sore muscles from a workout or chronic pain like arthritis, cannabis has been proven to provide varying degrees of relief in inflammation and pain management.

Human Endocannabinoid System

How does CBD function?

CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates and balances the physiological functions of the body like mood, energy, appetite, pain perception, immune response, blood pressure, sleep, inflammation, etc. The main work of the endocannabinoid system is to maintain the balance between different systems of the body so that they remain in an ideal state irrespective of the external conditions and return the internal state to homeostasis.

There are 3 main parts of the endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Endocannabinoids – Endocannabinoids or endogenous cannabinoids are molecules similar to cannabinoids found in cannabis plants but are produced in our own bodies. We have two main endocannabinoids namely Anandamide (derived from Sanskrit word ‘Ananda’ which means joy and bliss) and 2-arachidonoylglyerol (2-AG)

Endocannabinoid receptors – Endocannabinoids go and bind to endocannabinoid receptors to signal the ECS of a specific action to perform. There are two main types of cannabinoid receptors found in our bodies, CB1 receptors are mainly found in the central nervous system and CB2 receptors are mostly found in the peripheral nervous system and immune cells.

Metabolic enzymes – These enzymes are responsible for breaking down the cannabinoids once their work has been done. FAAH and MAGL are the two main enzymes that break down Anandamide and 2-AG respectively.

Though CBD doesn’t attach itself to CB1 and CB2 receptors like THC, it is believed to work by preventing the breakdown of endocannabinoids, thereby assisting the ECS to maintain homeostasis and improve the various bodily functions.

Types of CBD extracts

There are a plethora of CBD products available in the market ranging from CBD oil, CBD tinctures, CBD topicals, CBD cosmetics to even CBD food and beverage products. These CBD products can also differ by type of CBD extracts, some of the common types of CBD extracts are listed below.

CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD and it can be up to 99.9% pure. This is pure crystalline CBD devoid of any other cannabinoids or terpenes from the plant. This is the most common form of CBD extract that goes into most commercial CBD products due to its purity and long shelf life.

Broad-spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD extracts contain all the natural cannabinoids and terpenes of the hemp plant without THC. It can have up to 90% CBD and is better than pure CBD isolate due to the synergistic effect of other cannabinoids with CBD, this is also known as the entourage effect. Broad-spectrum CBD is used in generally used in the preparation of CBD oils, CBD tinctures, and CBD edibles.

Full-spectrum CBD

Full-spectrum CBD extracts contain all the cannabinoids and terpenes present in the hemp plant. Full-spectrum CBD extract also contains THC, but the concentration is less than 0.3% since the extraction is done from the hemp plant. Like Broad Spectrum CBD, Full spectrum CBD is also considered to be better than pure CBD because of the entourage effect. THC present in full-spectrum products aids in sleep and pain better than broad-spectrum products. Full-spectrum CBD is used for the preparation of CBD oil, CBD tinctures, CBD cosmetics, and CBD edibles.

CBD or cannabidiol oil is probably the easiest and safest way to consume CBD oil. We recommend starting out with a low dose of CBD (5 to 10mg) and gradually increasing it till you see the desired results you are looking for. Cannavedic brings you the best quality of cannabidiol oil in India that is GMP certified, and lab tested.

Understanding Cannabis

Cannabis has over 140 different types of active components called cannabinoids. The profile of these cannabinoids can vary from species to species but generally, THC and CBD are the most abundant. Although THC has medicinal benefits, it is psychoactive, and it is responsible for the intoxication caused by cannabis. CBD on the other hand is non-psychoactive and has lots of medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

All mammals including humans have an Endocannabinoid system that controls all physiological functions and maintains the balance between mind and body. Cannabinoids the active components of cannabis directly interact with this regulatory system in our body and help the body heal naturally and attain homeostasis.

Modern research has only recently discovered the endocannabinoid system and we are only beginning to understand the importance of it while the Vedic manuscripts stated the importance of mind-body balance is thousands of years ago.
