Hemp Vs. Marijuana

Hemp Vs. Marijuana: The Difference and Benefits

Both Hemp and Marijuana belong to the Cannabis family, but Hemp seed oil and CBD oil have a lot of differences in their active components and uses. Hemp is a plant that is rich in Cannabidiol(CBD) and has a much lower concentration of Tetrahydrocannabinol(THC), on the other hand, marijuana generally has a much higher concentration of THC. THC is the active component in the cannabis plant that causes the high associated with cannabis users. Therefore, hemp products do not cause intoxication and can be used by people while performing their day to day activities.

 What is hemp?

Hemp is grown for industrial and medicinal use. It is a strain of Cannabis Sativa L. that has less than 0.3% THC and high in CBD concentration. CBD is not only non-psychoactive in nature, but it also acts to neutralize THC’s effect; this means that hemp does not have what it takes to make a user intoxicated. Hemp is of great value in paper, clothing and textile industry, packaging and building materials, cosmetics industry, medicine, and the food industry. Hemp-derived cannabidiol is considered safe for use and is, therefore, more widely accepted. Hemp is rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, omega three, omega-six fatty acids, and minerals. The seed, the milk, and the oil of the hemp plant have nutritional value and improve health. Hemp-derived cannabidiol can treat skin problems, anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia, and heart disease. Apart from these the other benefits of hemp oil include maintaining the good health of the brain

 What is Marijuana?

Marijuana is a term given to the cannabis plant in the early 1900, it generally refers to Cannabis Sativa or Cannabis Indica plants having a higher concentration of THC. High THC cannabis has potential medical benefits and the extracts have been used for people suffering from chronic pain and undergoing chemotherapy to ease pain and nausea. High THC extracts when consumed orally can leave the users intoxicated for a very long time and hence should be avoided by people who want to carry on with their day to day critical activities.

Research proves that both hemp and cannabis contain THC and CBD but in different quantities.

Hemp oil is another type that people refer to as CBD oil. However, they may also refer to hemp seed oil as hemp oil.CBD oil utilizes the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant in its production. These contain a higher CBD, which is a compound with various potential health advantages. While hemp seed oil originates from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant. These ingredients are the most common cannabinoids in cannabis products. While both components have a different effect on the user, they are of value to the human body. They can improve your overall well-being and can be infused in oils, foods, and cosmetics.
